Brittany Merenda

BIO

Award winning projection designer Brittany Merenda has been thrilling and stunning audiences with her groundbreaking designs since her debut in 2010, where she won the Barbizon Award at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Specializing in projection mapping on non-traditional surfaces, Brittany has become the resident projection designer for Parallel 45 Theatre Company, which produces a broad repertoire consisting of innovative new works, reinvented classics, and imaginative adaptations.

 

In 2018, Brittany will make her debut with Opera Tampa on a new production of Verdi's Macbeth. Recent opera credits include Tosca for Opera Grand Rapids, Carmen and A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Lakes Area Music Festival, A Streetcar Named Desire for Cleveland Opera Theatre, Dialogue of the Carmelites with the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, and The Marriage of Figaro with the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre. Brittany has also designed Pirates of Penzance for the Interlochen Arts Academy Opera and the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming productions include Wonderland and The Newsies for The Rose Theatre in Omaha, and The Magic Flute for Lakes Area Music Festival.

 

As the resident projection designer for Parallel 45 Theatre in Michigan, Brittany has designed Mr. Burns, Alice in Wonderland (2017 Wilde Award Best Play Nominee), A Christmas Carol in Prose, Streetcar, Medea, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Cyrano, The Oz Project, R&J and The Terrible Tragedy of Peter Pan. Recent theatre credits include productions of Van Gogh and Me, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Little Mermaid, and A Wrinkle in Time for the Rose Theatre in Omaha.

   

Brittany is based in Traverse City, Michigan and received her Masters of Arts in Digital Arts and Sciences from the University of Florida.
